What’s your pet question?

A calculator when you need a number.
A clear chart when a range says more.

No tool matches that yet. Try another word, or pick a section above.

Start with a little curiosity

How old is your best friend?

Source charts cover 1–16 years.

Use their adult weight group.

Feeding, made a little clearer

From calories
to cans.

“One can” isn’t a universal serving. Use your food’s calorie label to turn a daily energy estimate into a practical portion.

AAHA energy factors. Your food’s label and your pet’s needs change the result. The can’s calories are an example value.

Good questions

Before you run the numbers.

Helpful estimates, with their limits out in the open.

How accurate are the calculators?

As accurate as the published references behind them, and no more. Each tool names the chart or formula it uses, shows a range where the source gives one, and links to the source. Your own pet may differ from the averages.

Can I use pounds, inches, and metric units?

Yes. Weight tools take pounds or kilograms, the gear tools take inches or centimeters, and kitten weights can be entered in grams or ounces.

Does PawsRuler replace veterinary advice?

No. The tools give starting points for everyday questions. They don’t diagnose, give medication doses, or plan care for a pet who is ill, pregnant, nursing or losing weight: that is your veterinarian’s job.
